📐 iPhone Battery Health Formula

True Health % = (Current Capacity / Original Design Capacity) * 100
  • Original Design Capacity: The official mAh of your device when brand new
  • Current Capacity: The MaximumFCC mAh found in Analytics-Year-Month-Day.ips

📝 Example

If your iPhone 14 Pro has an original design capacity of 3200 mAh, but your analytics log shows a MaximumFCC of 2850 mAh, your true battery health is (2850 / 3200) * 100 = 89.06%.

Benefits

  • Find the exact decimal percentage of your battery health.
  • Check battery wear on iPads (which don't show health in settings).
  • Verify if your battery qualifies for an Apple warranty replacement (below 80%).

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find my MaximumFCC and Design Capacity?

Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data. Open the latest file starting with 'Analytics-'. Copy the text to a note and search for 'MaximumFCC' to find your current capacity, and 'NominalChargeCapacity' or search online for your iPhone's standard Design Capacity.

Why is this different from iOS Settings?

iOS deliberately rounds the percentage and updates it slowly to prevent user panic over minor daily fluctuations in battery chemistry. This calculator gives the raw, real-time chemical capacity.
